Deb over at DebnBob.com posted a great post last week called “Five Parenting Issues That Drive Me Crazy“. I couldn’t agree more with her post…
Here is a summary of the post:
- Parents are responsible for mentoring their kids, not the schools
- Kids need to be taught to respect others
- Violence is a no-no…Kid’s should be taught to be gentle and respectful
- Kid’s need to be taught and shown that they are unique and they should be themselves
- Children, youth, and adults all need boundaries

On the flip side, you have to let your kids be kids. I don’t expect my two year old to be prim and proper, and I’m not interested in breaking his spirit sufficiently so he tows that line at a verbal cue from me. People who frown at you when you’re out and your two year old is being a two year old need to remove stick from anterior and relax.
